Welcome Blood Donors Kerala

BLOOD DONORS KERALA abbreviated BDK is the idea of Mr. VINOD BHASKARAN, a KSRTC bus conductor from Changanacherry, Kottayam. He stated a Face book page by the name "We Help" initially in the year 2011 to bring a social change in our society with the help of the social media. Later seeing the endless requirment of blood in hospitals, Blood Donors Kerala was found in the year 2014 with a vision to help and guide the unorganised blood requirements happening in and around the hospitals in Kerala. In short span, BDK has become the preferred blood donation channel for a lot of people in Kerala. BDK is now a registered charitable trust (REG.NO.KTM/TC/840/2014) with it's wings spread across Kerala, UAE and Kuwait.

Once in every 2- seconds, someone somewhere is desperately in need of blood. More than 29 million units of blood components are transfused every year. Each year, we could meet only up to 1% (approx) of our nation's demand for blood transfusion.

Despite the increase in the number of donors, blood remains in short supply during emergencies, mainly due to the lack of information and accessibility. We have been trying to overcome most of these challenges by effectively connecting the blood donors with the blood recipients through our solid, energetic and sincere coordinator network across the Kerala, UAE and Kuwait.

Team BDK have successfully managed to coordinate each blood request received so far and extend a hand of support for the recipients who were desperately running for a unit of blood.
